Can anyone PowerShield reflect with Lucas in 2.6? Discussion in 'Bug Reporting' started by Malart, Jul 22, 2013. Malart Smash Apprentice Joined: Apr 8, 2009 Messages: 80 Location: Orono, Maine I've just recently started practicing PowerShielding projectiles, and am fairly decent at PSing Falco's, Pika's, and Mario's projectiles. I can do it with Peach, Fox, and Ness, but no matter what I do, even at 1/4 speed, I absolutely cannot PS anything with Lucas. Is this a known issue or some sort of odd character specific thing? Also, if I can use this bug report to just suck the PMBR's e-willy a bit, great job on this release. I've been following the development since it was first announced and playing this game since it was first released. I've loved watching the evolution of the characters over the years. **EDIT** So in the past ten minutes or so, I've tried the whole bottom two rows of the cast, and PS'd Falco's lasers with every one of them, almost all of them characters I never play and who's hurtboxes I'm unfamiliar with. Most of them I PS'd the first laser that he immediately shot. So I'm almost positive it's not me messing up my input. **EDIT 2** Now I've tried the entire cast, and can do it just fine with every other character, at full speed, with little to no trouble at all. After over one hundred additional attempts (at least) with Lucas to make sure I wasn't just messing up, I'm pretty sure this is a bug. Malart, Jul 22, 2013 #2 Malart Smash Apprentice Joined: Apr 8, 2009 Messages: 80 Location: Orono, Maine So since it actually seems to work, I guess this should be in the character specific board. The timing seems punishingly strict for just this one character, so I'll see if anyone else has trouble with it, or if it's just my own problem. I suppose it could just be my installation, but the only custom content I have are stages and music. Burnsy, Jul 24, 2013 #6 Malart Smash Apprentice Joined: Apr 8, 2009 Messages: 80 Location: Orono, Maine Weird. maybe I'm just getting thrown because he slides backwards every time he gets hit, and the timing changes. I can easily do it with lucas facing backwards to the needle but forward is difficult. I think the size of his head makes it really difficult to PS reflect. His head takes up most of the space in the front of his shield so his PS timing must be small because of that since the space between his head and the shield area is really small. I was also able the reflect needles facing forward but i had to be walking forward first. When you walk forward then shield, the shield shifts forward and makes the the space between his head and shield in the front larger. that larger space makes it easier to reflect but it is hard with him. i was able to reflect pikas spark while facing backwards but not forwards and its really hard. I was able to reflect falcos laser but only when the laser was being aimed at lucas's feet where there is more space between him and the sheild. I've come to this conclusion, his Powersheild isn't bugged, its definetly there, its just really sensitive to where he's being hit. drsusredfish, Jul 30, 2013 #8 Malart Smash Apprentice Joined: Apr 8, 2009 Messages: 80 Location: Orono, Maine drsusredfish said: ↑ I was able to power shield reflect sheik's needles . Ok thanks a lot, It was ticking me off that I could do it so (relatively) easily with the entire cast but not with Lucas. I think he needs to get a haircut, stop rocking the Matt Smith Doctor Who hair. Malart, Jul 30, 2013 #9 210stuna likes this. Go PMBR, you so sexeh. Malart, Aug 20, 2013 #10 SpiderMad likes this. SpiderMad, Aug 21, 2013 #11 Malart Smash Apprentice Joined: Apr 8, 2009 Messages: 80 Location: Orono, Maine Increased the PowerShield collision detection size. I was so happy when I saw that, because I was still feeling like it was all in my head. I confirmed that it was do-able in game a little while ago.
