It does not show any datawindows. Perhaps this is a limitation of the demo version. The cost is US $2,200. My take is not to worry. Nobody in China is going to buy your program anyway so why worry if someone there is using it illegally? >Hi all. >This is Worrying > >http://www.shuct.net/ > > > Re: pb decompiler is real? 2008-06-11 03:04 Could you make sure someone outside China will not use it? PBD is P-Code compilation. It seems it's easy to crack for a C developer. My suggestion is go to .NET deployment quickly. There are many websites that have programs to unlock programs like Dreamweaver for example but those are free. >Hi all. >This is Worrying > >http://www.shuct.net/ > > > ---SPAM--- 2008-06-10 14:23 Thread marked as spam Re: pb decompiler is real? 2008-06-10 00:27 This worry is real. It does for most development tools. If Sybase does something to obfuscate the code, a new one will be developed. Do you really want Sybase to pull resources off of new feature development to deal with a losing battle? What features do you want to ditch so that you can slow down the release of a decompiler by a couple of months? A better strategy (IMHO)? Keep your application up to date with new features so if someone gets code from a couple of years ago its already hopelessly behind the times. Keep your post-sales service at a level where it's not in any potential customers best interest to get a "free" version of the software (I'm working for an ISV right now that does that well). I'm not sure who you're addressing your comment to, (newsgroups are not a means of communication with Sybase; they are for peer-to-peer communication) but it's not clear from your message what you're after. You can't decompile it.... LOL You may not copy (You may make one copy of the Software solely for back-up purposes), emulate, clone, rent, lease, sell, modify, decompile, disassemble, otherwise reverse engineer, (except changing ini language configuration is not under this limitation if it doesn't change the main engineering of software for original meaning), or transfer the licensed program, or any subset of the licensed program, except as provided for in this agreement. Any such unauthorized use shall result in immediate and automatic termination of this license and may result in criminal and /or civil prosecution. Re: pb decompiler is real? 2008-06-09 23:26 It is certainly possible in theory, but I'm not going to risk downloading anything from a site I've never seen before. And of course any decompiler/disassembler will have to generate its own generic variable names - have fun reading the code. Does it strike anyone else as ironic that the page contains mostly a EULA when the product violates the PB EULA? >Hi all. >This is Worrying > >http://www.shuct.net/ > > > Re: pb decompiler is real? 2008-06-10 05:45 >It is certainly possible in theory, but I'm not going to risk downloading >anything from a site I've never seen before. Compiled p-code contains all the names of all the variables and functions. It's the same information PB uses in runtime error messages. The only short circuit optimisation or obfuscation I've seen PB's compiler do, is to replace lowerbound and upperbound with a constant when the bounds of an array are known at run time. Re: pb decompiler is real? 2008-06-10 02:13 Decompiling an application written with PB would violate the EULA for the application, not PB itself. The PB EULA actually doesn't mention decompiling at all but the Sybase general EULA does. >It is certainly possible in theory, but I'm not going to risk downloading >anything from a site I've never seen before.
